Beaches in Tanzania Are Waiting For You

Tanzania has a number of beach destinations. Here are some:

Mnemba Island
Mafia Island
These islands are easily reached from Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, and their locations offer you great diving and snorkelling as well as the chance to explore the nearby coastline. Each of these islands has a small lodge with beautiful interiors.

Ras Kutani
Mainland Tanzanian beaches are more private than those in Zanzibar, but do not have diving.

Mnemba Island
Surrounded by a coral reef off the North East coast of Zanzibar, Mnemba Island is a paradise -- an exclusive location. Eight thatched beach bandas provide accommodation. Diving, watersports and meals under the stars, all included in the price.

Mafia Island
Mafia Island is part of a rural archipelago of Indian Ocean isles, surrounded by tiny coral atolls and sandbars to explore by traditional sailing dhow. Kinasi Lodge is a small family-run lodge with only 12 rooms set in landscaped gardens above the water's edge. Library of local info and cocktails.
Swimming pool and beach bar, great diving and world class fishing.

Ras Kutani
Ras Kutani is a hideaway on the coast of mainland Tanzania. The 12 airy bandas back into the forest over a freshwater lagoon on the Indian Ocean. Snorkelling and a private beach.
Come here for privacy and relaxation, but no diving.

Amani
Amani Beach Club is a hotel on the mainland, air-conditioned detached cabins sitting around a swimming pool and gardens. Tennis court, and watersport facilities are provided as well as a beachside restaurant.
Arabic style with 20th century comforts.
