New Ethanol Plant Is Expected to Work on Cow Manure

By: Editor

With the latest boost in ethanol popularity, a new ethanol plant seems to be constructed every minute. These plants vary in their efficiency and the way they operate, some are considered to be more important than others, and there are also some new ethanol plants that look more promising than others.

One new ethanol plant was going to be fueled by cow manure, and while the attempt to find alternative ways in ethanol plant functioning is a positive thing, it should be also known that the new ethanol plant facilities may have a big impact in regards to the growing debate over the value of ethanol as a supplement or alternative to gasoline.

Furthermore, ethanol is believed to be our major fuel source in the future, replacing gasoline, and this is a matter that is one of great and significance importance, locally as well as globally.

The Conception of the New Ethanol Plant

The new ethanol plant is expected to extract methane from 1 billion pounds of manure – the product of about 500,000 cows – in order to be able to generate 100 million gallons of ethanol, plus ash-by product, each year. As well, methane will then be derived from the manure and will then be burned to generate the steam that is necessary for processing corn into ethanol.

Basically, by mining mountains for energy, there are then certain facilities, such as the Panda facility, which is expected to save the equivalent of a thousand barrels of oil a day that would otherwise be required in order to be able to fuel ethanol production.

The importance of ethanol is quite obvious in the present situation, so is the importance of new ethanol plants. It is an absolutely positive thing that more and more new ideas appear in regards to ethanol production and reducing the dependence on foreign oil. New ethanol plant construction is the biggest step towards the bright future of ethanol.
