Responsibilities include receiving the prescriptions for the patient either electronically or manually, then you must check the information is complete and accurate, then the prescription must be filled.

Special attention to detail is a must. The prescriptions has to be measured, counted or weighed in some cases in order for them to equal the doses ordered by the physician for the patient in question. You must then correctly label and price the prescriptions. Then the information has to be recorded accurately and in a timely manner. Errors are not allowed in this career field.
